The Power Company tree trimmers arrive and I point out the Robins nest in the Yew below where some limbs will need to be trimmed. After I return to the house, the foreman points out the nest to the tree climber as Mi and Mishado  lay still..

The Limbs begin to fall as does the rain. Mi and Mishado are in the dark yew just to the right of the smaller tree in the center of the picture. With Limbs falling all around, Mi and Mishado lie in the rain and Adam and Eve cannot return to the nest.

Some limbs fall very close to the nest but this time the chicks are spared. When finally the trimmers work is halted due to the very heavy rain, they leave the area. Almost as soon as they have left the yard, Eve returns and a most happy reunion ensues. She covers the happy chicks and waits for Adam to bring food.

The chicks lay in the rain and Adam and Eve could only squawk from nearby trees as the workers did their thing for almost 4 hours. After the reunion with Eve , the chicks were happy but still very hungry. The happiness was complete when Adam arrived with the first food. After that Eve shielded the chicks from the rain which lasted most of the day and Adam worked hard to make up for lost worms.

Did You Know:  When danger approaches  the parent robins will attempt to lead the offenders away from the nest and the young robins will lie perfectly still. If the offender continues to come closer the robins may indeed dive at the enemy and continue their alarm cries.
