Tree Trimmers back and unexpected on Monday Morning. Unable to control the falling limbs, the frightened Mishado leaped out and scurried away before I was recording. Here Mi doing what he was trained to do, lying still as long as he could, then one limb too many and he could be still no more. Here is the last of the Robin chicks leaving the nest and it was final. .

Once again I attempt to come to the rescue of my adopted bird family. But alas I was too late. Even while I am discussing it with the foreman, the now Empty Yew receives another direct hit. The chicks are no where to be found. I feared they were perhaps killed by the falling debris or scattered into some predators clutches  but would not know until later.

The Frightened and irate Robin Parents squawked away as the crew cleaned up the fallen debris and were gone once again. Eve returned to the nest 5 times and appeared to be doing clean up work in the nest. I am not sure if it was just habit or if she was already preparing for another brood.

I searched all around our backyard and into the neighbors shrubs and trees. I saw not a trace of Mi and Mishado. It had not ended in the manner I had hoped and expected and strangely I felt cheated and disappointed at the manner of their departure .

Did You Know:  The robins' eggs are vulnerable at first and then the young chicks have many enemies. Enemies  include the domestic cat and snakes. Also red and grey squirrel, chipmunks, hawks, crows, blue jays  and raccoons . And of course and sometimes unintended, MAN.
